The Galaxy Nexus was one of the newest phone that will be a collaboration between Samsung and Google. The phone had the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board which came out at the time.
Android 4.0 was a complete rework of Software for Google. They did many community surveys to see what people thought of the device and where the issues with it lie. People overwhelmingly though that the device lacked uniformity across the interface. There were two many different fonts and styles and this resulted in the device’s interface looking messy and unorganised. If you compare it to Apple who strongly control and set their design requirements, there was a huge gap.
Google therefore did a lot of work in trying to bridge this gap. They did this by setting requirements for styles and fonts.
Another change they made was to rewrite the way that the notifications worked. A cool feature that they have also added to the product is called face unlock.
These days, Samsung and Android has come a long way and the interface and much slicker and advanced. Samsung is now the leading phone manufacturer in the world and continues to dominate the market ahead of the Apple iPhone.
