Healthy Homemade Burgers

Made with lean mince, these patties would be lower in fat than your fast food burger, plus cheaper too.

Makes around 6 – 8 burgers depending on how large you make the patties.

Ingredients

For the burger patties:
1 finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic
350g lean beef mince
½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 grated zucchini (squeeze the liquid out when grated)
2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
1 egg
¼ cup wholemeal breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper

Burger buns

Suggested salad fillings:
Lettuce
Tomato
Cheese
Beetroot
Onion
Low fat Mayonnaise

Instructions

Combine the patty ingredients together and mix well. Add more breadcrumbs if necessary so the mixture is held together enough to make patties.

Roll the mixture into patties and cook in a frypan over a medium heat until cooked through.

Toast the burger buns and add salads and condiments of your choice.
